Description
The Vivan bedside table is tall and narrow: 63cm high on a base of 40 by 36.5cm, with a single drawer under the top and an open shelf near the floor. The top and the base shelf are both combed into fine parallel grooves, cut by hand, while the drawer front and the four square legs are left plain. The drawer is pulled by a small carved wooden bar set in the middle of it.
At 40cm wide and 36.5cm deep the table takes very little floor beside a bed, and at 63cm it is tall for that width. The drawer measures 12cm deep inside, 24cm across and 28cm front to back, which holds a book, a charger and whatever is better out of sight. The shelf below is open on every side, so what goes on it is seen from the room rather than shut away.
Every table is carved and assembled by hand from solid mango wood, and the grooving on the top and the base shelf is cut by hand too, so its depth and its spacing differ from one table to the next. The wood is left in its own tone, and the grain runs differently through every board. Vivan runs from this bedside table up to a wardrobe, a pantry cupboard and a bed in King and Super King, with a chest of drawers, a coffee table, a side table and two mirrors between them.

Frequently Asked
How many drawers does it have?
One, with an open shelf below it.
What size is the drawer inside?
12cm deep, 24cm across and 28cm front to back.
Where is the grooving?
On the top and on the base shelf. The drawer front and the legs are left plain.
Will every table look the same?
Not exactly. The grain runs differently through every board and the grooving is cut by hand, so its depth and spacing vary from table to table.
How do I look after it?
A soft dry cloth keeps dust and moisture off it. Mild soap and a very little water will shift a mark, worked along the grain. Avoid harsh chemicals and abrasives, put nothing wet straight onto the surface, and mop up a spill at once and dry the patch. Keep it out of strong sunlight and away from extreme heat or swings in humidity, and do not leave rubber or plastic sitting on the finish.
