Description

The Violla is a 45cm-wide sculptural pendant light built from layered Opalflex petals arranged around two E27 lamp holders. The white moulded shade is suspended from a slim red fabric cable and a circular white ceiling canopy, with the petals overlapping to form a rounded bloom 35cm tall. Two E27 LED filament bulbs at 12W are required (sold separately).

Designed for rooms with medium ceiling heights from 2.4m upwards, the Violla suits dining tables, breakfast bars, lounge corners and creative studios where a single decorative fixture defines the lighting scheme. The 150cm cable allows the pendant to hang 700-800mm above a dining surface or be shortened on installation for lower ceilings. Multiple Violla pendants can be clustered at staggered drops above longer dining tables or open-plan kitchen islands.

Opalflex is a flexible technopolymer used by Italian lighting makers for moulded diffuser shades. The material is light, opaque-white, and shapes the light from each E27 bulb into a soft glow that escapes between the petals as well as through the shade itself. At only 1.15kg, the fitting is light enough to install on standard plasterboard ceiling fixings without additional reinforcement, and the petal arrangement throws layered shadows onto surrounding walls and ceilings when lit.

The bright white shade reads as a single sculptural form during daylight and reveals its internal structure once the bulbs are switched on. The contrasting red flex turns the suspension itself into a design feature rather than a cable to hide.

Are bulbs included?

No. The Violla takes 2 x E27 LED filament bulbs at 12W, which are sold separately. Most buyers pair this pendant with warm-white 2700K filament-style LED bulbs to complement the soft, diffused effect of the Opalflex shade.

What ceiling height does it suit?

The pendant is best suited to medium ceiling heights from 2.4m upwards. The 150cm cable can be shortened on installation, allowing the fitting to hang 700-800mm above a dining table or higher when used as ambient lighting in a lounge.

What is Opalflex?

Opalflex is a flexible opaque-white technopolymer used by Italian lighting makers for moulded shades. It is durable, light in weight, and diffuses light evenly through the material to soften the output from the bulbs inside.

How is the shade cleaned?

Wipe gently with a dry, soft microfibre cloth to remove dust from between the petals. For more stubborn marks a barely-damp cloth with mild soapy water is acceptable. Avoid solvent-based cleaners, which can damage the technopolymer surface.
