Description

This is a tufted cotton rug, 180cm long and 120cm wide, with a white ground and a freehand line that loops and crosses over itself from one end to the other. The composition is 95% cotton with 3% polyester and 3% viscose, so cotton makes up almost all of it. Up close the pile is soft and slightly shaggy. The line is tufted into the surface rather than printed, so it has the same depth and texture as the rest of the rug. The drawing runs off the edges in places, which keeps the pattern loose and unfussy rather than framed by a border.

At 180cm by 120cm it is a good size to lay in front of a sofa with a coffee table resting on part of it, or to soften the floor of a reading spot in a bay window, which is how we like it. It also suits a bedroom, laid beside the bed so the first step in the morning lands on cotton rather than bare boards. The white ground keeps a room light and works with pale wood floors, parquet and natural textures such as rattan, bouclé and linen.
