Description

The Velos is a 5-light cluster pendant built around five sculptural acrylic sails suspended from a 50cm rose gold canopy, each housing an integrated LED element. The sails are moulded from micro-printed methacrylate into soft spiral curves that catch and scatter 3000K light along etched surface lines, giving each element a translucent, floating quality when lit. The combined 25W LED output provides ambient and decorative light rather than focused task illumination.

Designed for installation over kitchen islands, dining tables, and reception areas with ceiling heights between 2.55m and 3.3m, the Velos allows individual cable adjustment from 55cm to 230cm on each of the five pendants. This means the cluster can be configured as a tight grouping for a concentrated visual mass or staggered into a cascading formation across different drop lengths. The rose gold canopy fits standard UK ceiling roses and conceals the cable terminations and electrical connections.

The pendant is dimmable via TRIAC phase-cut or 0-10V control systems, allowing output to be adjusted from full brightness to low-level ambient without flicker. The IP20 rating limits the fitting to dry indoor environments. The acrylic sails are lighter than glass equivalents, bringing the total weight to 6.44kg across the full cluster, which is within the load capacity of most ceiling fixings when correctly installed. The rose gold finish on the canopy and accent details provides a warm metallic tone that pairs with copper, brass and warm-toned contemporary interiors.

Is the Velos dimmable?

Yes. The integrated LED is compatible with TRIAC phase-cut dimmers and 0-10V control systems. Check your dimmer specification before pairing to confirm compatibility with LED cluster loads.

Can the drop lengths be adjusted independently?

Yes. Each of the five pendants has an individually adjustable cable from 55cm to 230cm, allowing the cluster to be configured as a tight grouping or staggered cascade. Adjustment is made during installation by shortening the cables within the canopy.

What ceiling height is needed?

The pendant works in rooms with ceiling heights between 2.55m and 3.3m. For installation over a kitchen island or dining table, the lowest sail typically hangs 700-900mm above the surface, which requires a minimum ceiling height of around 2.55m when cables are set to their shortest 55cm drop.

How is the acrylic cleaned?

Wipe the acrylic sails with a dry microfibre cloth. For marks or fingerprints, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable. Avoid household sprays, polishes and abrasive cleaners, which can scratch or cloud the micro-printed surface.
