The Vellmere pendant in antique brass keeps the smallest shade in the range and sets it against warm metalwork, so it works as a neat single light or in a run of several. The shade measures 210mm across and the drop adjusts from 470mm to 1575mm, giving flexibility over a bar, a table or a landing. A single E27 screw fit lamp rated at 10W lights it, and because the glass is clear the lamp stays in view, which makes a filament style LED worth choosing. With a dimmable lamp and a compatible dimmer switch it dims without flicker or fuss.

Small clear shades come into their own in multiples, so this is the size to hang in twos or threes along a breakfast bar or a kitchen island where you want light without a wall of glass overhead.
