Our Vellmere large pendant pairs a clear glass shade with warm antique brass, so the metalwork carries the colour while the glass keeps the fitting feeling open. The shade is 250mm in diameter and the drop adjusts from 570mm to 1675mm, giving you real scope over an island, a table or a stairwell. One E27 screw fit lamp rated at 10W does the work, and with clear glass the lamp remains visible, so a filament style LED is the natural pick. Put it on a compatible dimmer switch with a dimmable lamp and you can take the level right down for evenings.

The generous drop range makes this a good choice for hanging in pairs above a kitchen island, in a line of three along a longer worktop, or singly over a bedside table or a hall console. Brass warms cooler schemes, so it settles happily against grey and off white walls, oak surfaces and painted cabinetry. Clear glass does not screen the light, so expect a bright spread with some sparkle rather than a diffused wash, which suits dining tables and prep areas where you want to see properly.
