Valknight 7W LED Downlight 3000K Dimmable - White Round Bezel IP65

The Valknight is a 7W LED downlight with an integrated CoB (chip-on-board) LED module delivering 610 lumens at 3000K warm white. The fitting sits in a 65mm ceiling cut-out with a white round bezel that projects 4mm below the ceiling surface, giving a low-profile finish in residential and light commercial settings. The IP65 rating allows use in zones 1 and 2 of bathrooms and other areas where moisture contact is expected.

Designed for recessed installation in plasterboard ceilings, the downlight requires a minimum void depth of 110mm above the ceiling to accommodate the LED module and integrated driver. The 40° beam angle provides focused accent lighting over kitchen worktops, bathroom mirrors and task areas, or can be spaced at 1.2-1.5m centres for general room lighting. The fitting is fully dimmable with compatible phase-cut dimmers, allowing output to be adjusted between full brightness and low mood lighting.

The die-cast aluminium construction includes a finned heatsink on the rear to dissipate heat from the LED without mechanical cooling, maintaining the L70B50 rating of 40,000 hours (the point at which 50% of a batch will have degraded to 70% of initial output). The white powder-coated finish on the bezel matches standard white ceiling paint and provides a clean aperture edge. Optional interchangeable bezels in round or square designs are available separately, allowing the trim to be swapped without re-wiring if the room aesthetic changes.

Is this downlight dimmable?

Yes, the Valknight is fully dimmable with compatible phase-cut (trailing-edge) dimmers. Dimmer compatibility depends on the specific dimmer model — test with your chosen dimmer before final installation or contact us for confirmed compatible models.

What ceiling void depth is required?

A minimum void depth of 110mm above the ceiling is required to accommodate the LED module, heatsink and integrated driver. The recessed depth of the fitting itself is 60mm, with an additional 4mm projection below the ceiling from the white bezel.

Can it be used in bathrooms?

Yes. The IP65 rating allows the Valknight to be installed in bathroom zones 1 and 2, where direct water contact from showers or baths is expected. The IP20 rating from above means the fitting must be installed in a solid ceiling — it is not suitable for installation in suspended ceilings where water could enter from above.

What is the beam angle and spacing recommendation?

The 40° beam angle provides focused accent lighting. For general room lighting, space downlights at 1.2-1.5m centres. For task lighting over worktops or mirrors, position the downlight directly above the task area with the beam centred on the surface.
