Description

The Valeska is a soap dispenser in recycled glass, 13cm tall and 7cm across, holding 450ml. The body is a straight sided cylinder moulded in close vertical ribs, and the glass is a smoky blue grey that runs darker where the ribs turn away from the light. The pump is brass in an antique tone, with a ribbed collar above the neck that picks up the moulding below it and a spout that curves out and down.

At 13cm it stands about the height of a tumbler, and 450ml is several refills of a small bathroom bottle. A downstairs bathroom or a guest bedroom are the places it is meant for. The form follows the traditional apothecary bottle, straight sided with the pump standing clear above it.

The glass is recycled. Waste glass is collected, sorted by colour and melted down before it is mouth blown into the ribbed mould, so the ribbing and the depth of the tone vary a little from one to the next. The pump is brass. Valeska also runs to a soap dish and a storage pot in the same glass.
