Description

The Unity middle feed connector introduces mains power at any point along a single-phase track lighting run, rather than only at the ends. Manufactured from black anodised aluminium, the connector measures 142mm long by 34mm wide and sits 19.5mm proud of the ceiling once installed into the track channel. The connector accepts AC 220-240V input and distributes it to track sections on either side.

Designed for track lighting layouts where the power source is not at the end of the run, the middle feed is used in commercial spaces where the electrical supply drops from the ceiling at a central point, in retail environments where track routing follows non-linear ceiling layouts, and in galleries where the track wraps around columns or partitions. The connector allows power to be introduced at the most convenient point for the building's wiring rather than forcing the track layout to start at the mains connection.

The black anodised finish matches Maytoni's Unity black track system and gives a defined visual break in the track run where the connector sits. The aluminium construction provides stable electrical contact between the track rails and the feed connector's internal copper contacts. The connector clicks into the track channel and locks with a quarter-turn, requiring no tools for installation beyond the initial fixing of the track itself to the ceiling.

Frequently Asked

What's the difference between a middle feed and an end feed connector?

An end feed introduces power at the start or end of a track run. A middle feed introduces power at any point along the length of the track, allowing the mains cable to drop from the ceiling wherever is most convenient for the building's wiring rather than forcing the track to start at the power source.

Is this compatible with three-phase track systems?

No. This is a single-phase connector designed for Maytoni Unity single-phase track only. Three-phase systems require a different connector with additional circuit rails.

Does it need to be wired by an electrician?

Yes. The connector requires connection to the building's mains supply and must be installed by a qualified electrician in accordance with UK electrical safety regulations. The connector itself clicks into the track without tools, but the mains wiring connection requires professional installation.

Can multiple middle feeds be used on the same track run?

It depends on the track layout and circuit design. In most residential and light commercial applications, one feed point is sufficient for a single continuous track run. Consult with your electrician if the track length or fixture load requires additional feed points.
