Description
This self amalgamating tape from Ultra Tape is made for sealing, splicing and cable repair. Once wrapped and stretched onto itself, the layers bond together to form a solid, waterproof seal with no adhesive residue. It measures 19mm wide and comes in a 10 metre roll, finished in black.
We find it useful for insulation, termination and general cable jobs where you need a tight, weatherproof wrap. It carries BT specification M128 approval and has strong elastic qualities, so it stretches into place around awkward joints and connectors and holds firm. Because it fuses to itself rather than sticking to the cable, it can be unwrapped later without leaving a sticky mess behind.
The tape is a handy addition to any toolkit, whether you are working on outdoor connections, repairing a damaged cable, or sealing a joint against moisture. Keep a roll in your kit alongside your torch and hand tools and it is there when you need a quick, reliable fix. The black finish keeps repairs looking tidy on cables and fittings.

Frequently Asked
What does self amalgamating mean?
The tape bonds to itself when stretched and wrapped, forming a single solid layer. It has no adhesive, so it grips by fusing rather than sticking.
What can I use it for?
It suits insulation, termination, sealing, splicing and cable repair. It is a common choice for weatherproofing outdoor connections and joints.
Does it leave sticky residue?
No. Because there is no adhesive, you can remove it later without the gummy residue left by standard insulating tape.
What are the dimensions?
Each roll is 19mm wide and 10 metres long, supplied in black.
Is it approved to any standard?
Yes, it is approved to BT specification M128 and has strong elastic qualities for a tight, lasting wrap.
Is it waterproof?
Once stretched and fused onto itself, it forms a waterproof seal, which makes it well suited to outdoor and moisture-prone repairs.
