Description

The Tussi Sia is a cushion cover, 60 x 40cm, woven in wool on a dusty pink ground. A wide charcoal band runs down one side carrying cream motifs, a narrower charcoal stripe sits beside it, and a large diamond fills the other half, worked in raised loops that stand well clear of the flat weave. The back is thick cotton. This is the cover; the inner is bought separately.

At 60 by 40cm this is a long cushion rather than a square one, and it sits on a sofa in front of larger squares. The design is not symmetrical, with the bands to one side and the diamond to the other, so the cover reads differently depending on which way round it goes. The raised loops stand proud of the weave, so the pattern carries by texture as much as by colour.

The front is wool, woven on a traditional Indian handloom, and the back is thick cotton. The same Sia design is made in mustard and grey, and the Tussi range also holds the Mara and the Ami in both colourways.
