Description

The Tubino is a slim wall and ceiling light in a Brushed Bronze finish: a narrow cylindrical head on a fine upright rod, held out on a short arm from a round plate. The head is 4cm across and the light is 23cm tall, standing 15cm out from the wall on a plate 10.4cm across. Inside is an integrated LED, so there is never a bulb to buy or change. It draws 6.5W and gives 339 lumens, with a colour rendering index of 90, so skin tones, wood and fabrics look true under it. It comes in a choice of two colour temperatures, 2700K or 3000K: the 2700K version gives the warmer, cosier white, and the 3000K version a slightly crisper one.

We think it suits a bedroom best, where a pair either side of the bed gives each sleeper their own light and keeps the bedside tables clear. It works just as well in a living room, beside a favourite chair or framing a fireplace, and in a dining room, set in a row along a wall to give a calm, even glow. Because it fits on a ceiling or on a wall, you can also use it overhead where a wall position does not suit. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry indoor rooms only.

The Brushed Bronze finish has a soft, warm sheen that sits happily with timber, linen and darker paint colours, and its slim lines keep the fitting quiet on the wall. It runs on 230V mains power and is wired in to the mains by a qualified electrician. It is not dimmable, so the light stays at one fixed brightness; that makes the choice between the 2700K and 3000K versions the main way to set the mood of the room. The small head and plate make it an easy fitting to place where space is tight.
