Description

A set of four glass baubles, each 8cm, blown into facets so the form reads as a cut gemstone: a short faceted cone rising to a metal cap and a deeper faceted cone below it, the two meeting at a wide shoulder. The surface is a distressed silver worked over with rust brown, heaviest along the ridges where the facets meet and thinner across the flats. A domed antique metal cap and ring close the top, and a dark ribbon is knotted through the ring.

Each measures 8cm across. Every flat face takes the light at a different angle, so the four do not read the same tone at once. Hung on a bare branch with light behind them they come up a cooler silver. They hang on a tree, in a garland or along a shelf.

Each bauble is blown by hand from recycled glass and then finished by hand, so the rust sits along different ridges on each one and no two come out alike. The angles of the facets are crisp while the finish laid over them is soft. Four come in a set.
