Description

To-Be is a linear LED pendant light: a single slim aluminium tube in matt black, 65cm long and 3.2cm across, that sends its light straight down from the lower end. The LED is integrated, so there is no bulb to buy or change, and it gives 363 lumens at a CRI of 90, which keeps food, wood and fabrics true to their colour. It draws 5.3W or 7W depending on the version, and it comes in two colour temperatures: 2700K, the warmer white, or 3000K, a touch crisper.

It belongs over a dining table or in a living room, hung alone beside a favourite chair or in a row or cluster at different heights, on a fine cable with a drop of up to 200cm. Rated IP40, it is for dry rooms indoors only. You choose between two canopy versions: with canopy, finished at the ceiling by its own round canopy 5.5cm across, or without canopy, for multi-pendant canopies (sold separately), so several pendants can share one ceiling point. The 24V DC version needs a remote 24V DC driver, not included and sold separately, which converts the mains supply to the 24V DC that version runs on; it will not light without it.

To-Be is wired in to the mains by a qualified electrician. The matt black finish is even and quiet, so the tube reads as a clean dark line against a pale wall or ceiling, and with a body only 3.2cm across it takes up almost no space over a table, letting you hang several without blocking the view across the room. Before you order, measure from the ceiling to the tabletop so you can choose a drop that puts the light where you want it.
