Description

The Taluka Kiko is a photo frame of glass held in a soldered brass edge, 26cm tall by 20cm wide and half a centimetre thick. The print sits inside and is held at the edges by small brass clips that turn to open. A brass strut is hinged to one side and folds flat against the back when it is not wanted. The brass is finished antique, warm gold across the flats and darker along the joins where the solder has run.

The frame takes an 8 x 10 inch print. It hangs on a wall or stands on a surface, and it works portrait or landscape, so a run of them on one wall can mix the two without changing frame. Three of them hang together in different sizes, spaced apart rather than set in a grid. At half a centimetre thick it sits almost flat to the wall.

The frame is glass and brass. The metal is soldered around the glass with traditional hand tools, which leaves weld marks on the joins of every piece, and those marks fall differently from frame to frame. Taluka Kiko is made in three sizes, taking a 5 x 7 inch print, this 8 x 10 inch one, and an extra large. A print is not included.
