Description

The Taccia is a 12cm-wide LED pendant light with a pear-shaped transparent glass shade suspended from a chrome canopy. The shade is formed from clear outer glass that encloses a solid inner core filled with decorative air bubbles. An integrated 5W LED at the top of the core emits 450 lumens at 3000K, casting warm light through both the bubbled centre and the clear outer glass.

Designed for use in hallways, reading corners, kitchen breakfast bars and above side tables, the Taccia works as a single accent piece or in rows of two or three over a linear surface. The drop is adjustable between 35cm and 150cm on installation, allowing the pendant to be set at different heights depending on ceiling height and the surface below. The chrome canopy is 6cm in diameter and fits standard UK ceiling roses.

The combination of clear outer glass and textured inner core creates layered reflections when lit, with the air bubbles scattering light in different directions while the smooth outer surface remains transparent. The fitting weighs 0.8kg including the glass shade and cable, light enough for plasterboard ceilings with standard fixings. The IP20 rating limits the pendant to dry indoor locations only.

The Taccia is from Schuller, a Spanish manufacturer producing contemporary and classical lighting since 1969. The integrated LED is rated for approximately 25,000 hours of operation and cannot be replaced — when the LED fails the entire fitting requires replacement.

Is the Taccia dimmable?

The integrated 5W LED runs on mains voltage. Dimmer compatibility depends on the specific dimmer switch model. Contact us before pairing with a dimmer to confirm compatibility.

Can the LED be replaced when it fails?

No. The LED is integrated into the fitting and cannot be replaced. When the LED reaches end-of-life (approximately 25,000 hours), the entire pendant requires replacement.

What ceiling height is needed?

The pendant drop is adjustable between 35cm and 150cm. For use above a worktop or side table the pendant typically sits 60-80cm above the surface, requiring a minimum ceiling height of around 2.1m. Higher ceilings allow the full 150cm drop to be used.

Can it be used in bathrooms?

No. The IP20 rating limits the Taccia to dry indoor locations only. It is not suitable for bathrooms, outdoor use, or any location where it may be exposed to moisture or splash.
