Description

Our Sybia pendant is a round globe of ribbed glass in green, 23cm across and 29cm tall, hung from a slim cap on a long cable. Fine ribs run from the top of the shade to the bottom all the way round, so the glass picks up a highlight along every ridge and blurs the outline of the bulb inside. Glass makes up 85% of the light, with polyvinyl chloride at 10% and iron at 5%, and the whole piece weighs 1.6KG. Coloured glass tints the light that passes through it, so the shade brings a little colour to the room whether it is lit or not.

At 23cm across, this is a compact pendant that hangs well over a side table, a reading chair, a kitchen island or a bedside, and a few hung in a row make a good line of light over a longer dining table. It suits a hallway or a landing too, where a coloured shade gives a plain space something to look at. The cable is 250cm long, so there is plenty to work with on a higher ceiling. It is rated IP20, which means it is for dry rooms only. It will appeal to anyone who likes colour in small doses, in a green that sits easily beside wood, linen and houseplants.
