Description

These stoneware candle holders come as a set of two, and each one is built up like a small sculpture. A little bird with a dotted body sits on the base, and from its back opens a flower-like cup with a leaf pattern painted on every petal, which takes a slim taper candle. The two pieces share the bird and the flower but stand on different bases, one a rounded double tier and the other a tapering cone, so the pair looks matched without being identical. Each holder is 12cm tall and 7cm across, a compact size that fits a narrow shelf or a busy tabletop.

Because they stand low, they hold a taper candle at a comfortable height without crowding a dining table, a mantelpiece, a windowsill or a sideboard. The birds and petals make them a natural fit for spring tables and Easter gatherings, yet the multicoloured painting is cheerful enough to stay out all year.
