Description

A single decorative stem in hand cut iron, 37cm from the tip of the head to the end of the stem. The head is a tapering spike of small metal flowers, each one cut and shaped separately and layered over the one below it into the cone of a hyacinth. Two long pointed leaves come off the stem beneath the head, and the stem itself is a twisted length of metal that finishes in a small open loop at the foot. The whole stem is finished in antique brass.

At 37cm the stem stands to the height of a tall bottle vase, and in a clear glass bottle on a shelf the leaves spread either side of the neck. The twisted stem holds a bend, so the head can be angled once it is standing. One stem reads as a single flower on a shelf or a windowsill, and three or four together fill a jug. It is metal and holds its shape year round.

The stem is iron, cut and shaped by hand and finished in antique brass, so the detail across the head varies a little from stem to stem. The Svara range also holds a rose stem and a flower stem, both in the same finish.
