Description

The Suspiro is an 18cm LED pendant light built around a hand-blown gradient glass shade that transitions from smoke grey at the top to clear glass at the base, suspended from a polished chrome canopy. An integrated 15W LED sits behind an internal opal diffuser inside the glass, casting 900 lumens of warm 3000K light downwards and through the translucent smoke-tinted upper section.

Designed for kitchen islands, bedside positions, hallway runs and bar counters, the Suspiro works as a solo pendant or in a series of two or three where multiple task zones need coverage. The adjustable cable allows installation between 40cm and 160cm drop, making it suitable for standard 2.4m residential ceilings and taller commercial or open-plan spaces. The polished chrome finish reflects surrounding light and pairs with stainless steel appliances, chrome taps and contemporary metalwork.

The blown glass shade measures 22cm in height and weighs 1.6kg including the LED assembly and chrome canopy, giving the pendant a compact but substantial presence without dominating smaller rooms. The gradient smoke effect is produced during the glass-blowing process by controlling the density of tint through different sections of the same piece, so the shade reads as a single object rather than layered components. The opal diffuser inside prevents direct LED glare and creates even light distribution across worktops and surfaces below.

Rated IP20 for dry indoor use only. The integrated LED is non-replaceable but carries a long operational life typical of quality LED modules. The chrome canopy fits standard UK ceiling roses and the pendant is supplied with Class 1 earthing for safety.

The integrated LED is rated at 15W on 180-240V mains. Dimmer compatibility depends on the specific dimmer model used. Contact us before pairing with a dimmer to confirm compatibility with your installation.

Can this pendant be used in a bathroom?

No. The Suspiro carries an IP20 rating, meaning it is suitable for dry indoor locations only. It cannot be used in bathrooms, outdoor areas, or any location where moisture or condensation is present.

What ceiling height is needed?

The adjustable cable allows installation between 40cm and 160cm drop. For positioning above a kitchen island or worktop, the pendant typically sits 60-80cm above the surface, which works in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above. Taller spaces can use the full 160cm drop for dramatic height.

How is the gradient glass effect created?

The smoke-to-clear gradient is produced during the glass-blowing process by controlling tint density through different sections of the same piece of glass. This means the shade is a single blown object, not multiple layers, and the gradient pattern varies slightly between individual pieces.
