Surcos Rectangle Wall Mirror Gold Leaf - 120x80cm

The Surcos is a 120x80cm rectangle wall mirror with a hand-finished gold leaf frame applied over an MDF backing and bevelled glass mirror surface. The gold leaf forms an irregular organic border that runs across the face of the mirror like a branching root or river delta, dividing the reflective surface into distinct sections while remaining part of a single continuous piece.

Designed to hang vertically or horizontally, the mirror suits hallways, above sideboards or console tables, or as a feature wall piece in living rooms and bedrooms where both reflection and decorative impact are wanted. The 120cm height when hung vertically provides full-length or near-full-length reflection for most adults when positioned at typical mounting heights. When hung horizontally, the 120cm width creates a landscape orientation that works above furniture or as a horizontal accent in narrow wall spaces.

The gold leaf finish is applied by hand, so the exact pattern and tonal variation of the metallic border differ between individual mirrors. The leaf sits proud of the mirror surface by approximately 2-3mm, giving textural depth and catching light differently depending on viewing angle. The 2.5cm overall depth includes both the MDF backing and the bevelled mirror glass. At 22.4kg the mirror requires secure wall fixings appropriate to the wall type — two or three fixings are recommended for plasterboard walls using appropriate anchors or direct fixing into studs.

Product Specification Sheet

Can it be hung both vertically and horizontally?

Yes. The mirror has mounting points that allow it to be hung in either orientation. When hung vertically the 120cm height provides near-full-length reflection, while horizontal orientation works well above furniture or as a landscape accent.

Is the gold leaf pattern the same on every mirror?

No. The gold leaf is applied by hand, so the exact branching pattern and tonal variation differ between individual pieces. Each mirror has a unique layout of the organic border across the reflective surface.

What wall fixings are needed for the 22.4kg weight?

The mirror requires secure fixings appropriate to your wall type. For plasterboard walls, use heavy-duty anchors rated for at least 25-30kg total load, or mount directly into wall studs. Two or three fixings are recommended to distribute the weight safely.

How far does the gold leaf sit proud of the mirror surface?

The gold leaf border sits approximately 2-3mm proud of the bevelled mirror glass, creating textural depth and catching light at different angles depending on viewing position.
