Description
A floor standing candle holder in iron, 63cm tall, with a round base 13cm across, a slim stem and a shallow saucer at the top. The stem is worked all the way up so its surface ripples and catches light in bands rather than running smooth, and the base is a plain disc with a hammered face. The saucer has a low upturned lip and takes a pillar candle, which stands on it in full view rather than dropping into a socket. The antique brass finish is uneven, lighter across the raised work and darker in the hollows.
At 63cm this stands on the floor rather than on a table. The height reads best at a hearth, at the foot of a bookcase, or in a corner where the stand will not be walked into. The base is weighted, which is what holds a tall pillar candle steady, and the stand is made for firm, level ground.
The stand is forged cast iron, and the antique brass finish is created during the soldering process rather than added afterwards. It is made in two heights, this 63cm one and an 80cm one. Pillar candles are sold separately.

Frequently Asked
What candle does it take?
A pillar candle. It stands on the saucer rather than dropping into a socket, so the diameter is open to you.
Is a candle included?
No. Pillar candles are sold separately.
Is there a taller one?
Yes. The Sundra is made at 63cm and at 80cm.
Where can it stand?
On firm, level ground only. Never position it near drapery, and avoid positioning it next to or over upholstered furniture or carpeted surfaces.
Does it get hot in use?
Yes. Make sure the pillar candle is securely positioned before each use, keep it out of reach of children, wait until it has cooled fully before handling it, and never leave a burning candle unattended.
How do I look after it?
Wash it with a mild dish soap and warm water after every use to remove any excess wax before it builds up. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners, which may damage the finish.
