Description
A floor standing candle stand 80cm tall, forged from iron and finished in antique brass. A slim round stem runs the whole height from a flat disc base to a shallow saucer at the top, and a low lip runs round the saucer to hold a pillar candle in place. The stem carries the marks of the forging, so it is neither perfectly straight nor perfectly round, and the brass tone shifts along its length.
At 80cm it stands on the floor rather than on a surface, and it lifts the candle well above the height of a table. The base is a weighted disc, which is what holds a stand this slim upright, and it wants firm, level ground under it. A pair stands on a hearth in front of a fireplace, the taller one set behind. The candle is not included.
The stand is forged cast iron under an antique brass finish, which is worked up during the soldering, so the tone is uneven and rustic rather than an even plate. The saucer takes a pillar candle, which stands on top in full view rather than dropping into a socket. The Sundra is made in two heights, this one at 80cm and a shorter one at 63cm.

Frequently Asked
How tall is it?
80cm, on a base 13cm across. It weighs 2.66kg.
What candle does it take?
A pillar candle. It stands on the saucer rather than dropping into a socket, and the candle is not included.
Is it sold singly?
Yes. This is one stand.
Is there another size?
Yes. The Sundra is also made at 63cm tall.
Where can it stand?
On firm, level ground only. Keep it away from curtains, and do not stand it next to or over upholstered furniture or a carpeted floor.
How do I look after it?
Wash the saucer with a mild dish soap and warm water after each use so wax does not build up, and keep harsh chemicals and abrasive cleaners away from the finish. It gets hot in use, so keep it out of reach of children, wait until it has cooled fully before handling it, and never leave a burning candle unattended.
