Description

A freestanding caddy 77.5cm tall, 24.5cm wide and 21cm deep, with three open trays stacked one above another on a central wooden frame. The frame carries on past the top tray and closes into a flat handle, so the whole thing lifts in one hand. Each tray is faced in marquetry: short strips of mango wood laid in a herringbone, so the grain runs one way and then the other in a run of chevrons round all four sides. It stands on small block feet.

At 77.5cm it is a floor-standing piece rather than one for a shelf, and its footprint is only 24.5 by 21cm, so it fits the gap beside a basin or a bath. The three trays are open, so what is in them can be seen and comes out in one movement, and the handle over the top means the whole caddy moves at once. The wood is treated to take bathroom conditions. It stands on a bathroom floor beside a cupboard, and the lower trays take bottles.

It is mango wood throughout. The marquetry is made up of small pieces cut and laid by hand, so the pattern and the tone shift across every face and no two caddies are alike. It weighs 2.68kg. The Sukha range also holds a smaller caddy and a bath bridge in the same wood.
