Description
A chest of seven drawers in mango wood, 110cm high, 110cm wide and 48cm deep. The drawers run in three tiers: two side by side at the top, two more directly below them, and three full width drawers under those. Each one carries a single flat bar pull set into the face. The case stands on four short turned legs and the sides are built as framed panels.
At 110cm wide and 110cm high the chest is square on the face, so it needs a run of open wall rather than an alcove, and at 48cm deep it stands further forward than a wardrobe would. The two tiers of small drawers divide the top third of the case into four, and the three full width drawers underneath take the rest.
The chest is mango wood throughout. Sandblasting cuts back the softer wood between the grain lines and leaves the harder grain standing, which is what gives the surface its texture. Each one is carved and assembled by hand, and the same turned leg runs through the rest of the Sri range, which holds a bedside table, a wardrobe and a bed.

Frequently Asked
How many drawers does it have?
Seven. Four small ones in two tiers at the top, and three full width drawers below.
How big is it?
110cm high, 110cm wide and 48cm deep. It weighs 62kg.
Why does the surface feel rough?
It is sandblasted. The process cuts back the softer wood between the grain lines and leaves the harder grain standing.
Does it need to stand out of the sun?
Yes. Strong or direct sunlight fades the wood, and big swings of heat and humidity can crack and split it.
How should it be looked after?
A soft dry cloth over the surfaces will lift dust and moisture. Mild soap and water can be used, but sparingly and always with the grain. Stand wet items on a coaster or a mat, mop up a spill at once, and keep harsh chemicals, abrasive materials, rubber and plastic off the finish.
