Description

The Schuller Sphere Large is a 20cm diameter LED pendant light with a polished chrome upper dome and a textured polycarbonate lower hemisphere that diffuses the light from an integrated 9.6W 3000K LED. The chrome top half acts as a mirror-polished reflector, while the textured polycarbonate bottom half softens the 672 lumen output into ambient rather than directional light.

Designed for bedrooms, living rooms and hallways where soft ambient lighting is needed without glare, the Sphere hangs on an adjustable cable that extends from 35cm minimum to 150cm maximum drop. This range allows the pendant to be set at different heights depending on ceiling height and the position of furniture below. The IP20 rating limits use to dry indoor spaces only.

The 20cm spherical shade gives the pendant enough visual weight to act as a focal point over a bedside table, in a hallway corner, or clustered in multiples over a kitchen island. The polished chrome finish reflects daylight and artificial light from other sources in the room, so the pendant reads as a metallic accent even when switched off. The 1.08kg weight is light enough to hang from most standard ceiling roses without additional support.

Is the Sphere dimmable?

The integrated LED is rated at 9.6W on mains voltage. Dimmer compatibility depends on the specific dimmer model used. Check with the dimmer manufacturer or contact us before pairing with a dimmer to confirm compatibility.

What rooms can this pendant be used in?

The IP20 rating limits use to dry indoor rooms only. It suits bedrooms, living rooms, hallways and dining areas. Do not use in bathrooms, kitchens directly above sinks or hobs, or any outdoor location.

Can the drop height be adjusted after installation?

The cable length is adjustable during installation between 35cm and 150cm drop. Once the pendant is wired and the excess cable concealed in the ceiling rose, the drop is fixed. Changing it later requires partial re-installation.

How is the chrome finish cleaned?

Wipe the polished chrome dome with a soft, dry microfibre cloth. For fingerprints or smudges, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable. Avoid abrasive cleaners, metal polishes or chemical sprays which can damage the chrome plating over time.
