The Sparrowmere double hoop pendant in silver leaf takes a 600mm mink fabric shade, with a drop that adjusts from 600mm to 1980mm and three 10W E27 LED lamps inside. It is dimmable, weighs 3.7kg and is rated IP20 for dry indoor rooms. The pair of hoops sits outside the shade rather than inside it, which is what keeps the fitting from reading as a plain drum. Silver leaf gives a cooler, slightly aged metal tone that works with grey, blue and off white schemes better than a warm gold would.

This is the middle size in the Sparrowmere pendant range, and it is the one we recommend most often because 600mm suits so many rooms: over a round dining table, above a kitchen island, in a hallway with a reasonable ceiling, or centred in a main bedroom. Three lamps behind mink fabric give warm general light, and the wide adjustment on the drop means it can hang close under a low ceiling or reach down through a stairwell. On a dimmer it takes a room from bright and practical to low and settled in one movement.

The hoops and ceiling plate are metal in a silver leaf finish, with a fabric shade in mink. Construction is Class 1, so an earth connection is required and a qualified electrician should install it. Clean the shade dry, using a soft brush or the upholstery attachment on a vacuum, and never a damp cloth, which will mark fabric. Dust the metal with a dry cloth alone, since polishes lift leaf finishes.
