The Sparrowmere double hoop pendant in the large size carries a 600mm mink fabric shade between two gold leaf hoops, with a drop adjustable from 600mm to 1980mm. Three 10W E27 LED lamps light it, enough for the shade width without overpowering a normal sized room. It is dimmable, weighs 3.7kg and is rated IP44 against splashing water. The two hoops sit outside the shade, which is what stops the fitting looking like a plain drum and gives it an outline you notice from the side as well as from below.

At 600mm across this is the version we would put over a round dining table, a kitchen island, a hallway with a decent ceiling, or centred in a bedroom where the XL would be too much. Three lamps behind mink fabric give warm ambient light rather than task light, so it pairs well with under cabinet strips in a kitchen or with a floor lamp in a sitting room. The long drop range means it also works in a stairwell. Mink is a warm grey brown, which keeps it neutral enough to survive a change of wall colour later on.

The hoops and ceiling plate are metal in a gold leaf finish, warmer and less even in tone than plated gold, with a fabric shade in mink. Construction is Class 1, so an earth connection is needed and a qualified electrician should install it. Clean the shade dry, with a soft brush or a vacuum upholstery attachment, and never a damp cloth. The metal takes a dry cloth and nothing else, since polish will lift a leaf finish. If the room is larger than this suits, the Sparrowmere is also made as a five light XL pendant with a 700mm shade.
