Description

The Sparka-1 is a compact outdoor wall light built from aluminium with an opaque powder-coated black finish, housing a single G9 bulb behind a clear tempered glass diffuser. The rectangular box measures 100mm wide by 90mm projection from the wall, casting light downward through the glass panel for pathway, patio and entrance lighting. The IP44 rating provides protection against splashing water and solid objects above 1mm, making it suitable for covered outdoor positions.

Designed for residential pathways, garden walls, patio perimeters and building entrances where directional downlight is needed, the Sparka-1 mounts flush to the wall and directs light toward the ground rather than outward into the space. The compact 100mm width allows multiple units to be spaced along a path or wall without visual clutter. The G9 socket accepts halogen or LED capsule bulbs up to the rated wattage (see Specification), giving flexibility to choose colour temperature and brightness for the specific installation.

The black powder-coated aluminium finish resists corrosion in outdoor conditions and pairs with contemporary, industrial and minimalist exterior schemes. The tempered glass diffuser is impact-resistant and secured within the aluminium housing with a gasket seal to maintain the IP44 rating. The light is dimmable when paired with a compatible G9 dimmable bulb and dimmer switch, allowing output to be reduced for low-level ambient lighting in the evening.

What does the IP44 rating mean for outdoor use?

IP44 provides protection against splashing water from any direction and solid objects larger than 1mm. The Sparka-1 is suitable for covered outdoor positions such as under eaves, porch ceilings, or sheltered patio walls, but should not be installed in fully exposed positions where it would receive direct rainfall or hose spray.

What bulb does it take and is one included?

The fitting takes a single G9 capsule bulb (sold separately). G9 bulbs are available in halogen and LED formats. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED G9 between 2-4W and 2700K-3000K for pathway and entrance lighting.

Is the Sparka-1 dimmable?

The fitting itself is dimmable, but dimming capability depends on pairing it with a dimmable G9 bulb and a compatible dimmer switch. Check the bulb packaging to confirm it supports dimming before installation.

How is the light directed?

The Sparka-1 casts light downward through the tempered glass panel on the underside of the fitting. The light is directed toward the ground or wall surface below rather than outward into the space, making it effective for pathway illumination and entrance areas.
