Description
The Solstice is an IP54-rated outdoor wall light with a 20.5W integrated LED running at 3000K, set inside a grey powder-coated aluminium body measuring 212mm wide by 100mm deep. The LED sits behind an adjustable opal polycarbonate diffuser that tilts to direct light up or down depending on mounting position and required coverage.
Designed for external wall mounting at entrances, patios, courtyard walls and garden pathway routes, the Solstice provides functional lighting with weatherproof construction suitable for year-round UK outdoor use. The IP54 rating protects the LED module against dust ingress and water splashes from any direction, making it suitable for locations with regular rain exposure but not direct water jets or submersion. The 100mm projection keeps the fitting close to the wall, reducing the chance of impact damage in narrow passages.
The grey powder-coat finish on the aluminium body resists corrosion and provides a neutral tone that pairs with rendered walls, brick, painted timber cladding and metal architectural details. The opal polycarbonate diffuser softens the LED output and eliminates visible hotspots, giving even illumination across the projected area rather than a harsh point source. The 3000K colour temperature produces a warm white light similar to halogen, avoiding the cooler blue tones of higher-temperature LEDs.
The fitting mounts directly to an external wall with fixings into brick, block or timber substrates, and connects to mains wiring via a weatherproof cable gland at the rear of the body. The integrated LED is not user-replaceable but carries a 5-year warranty covering the LED driver, module and housing.

Frequently Asked
Can the diffuser be angled after installation?
Yes. The opal polycarbonate diffuser tilts on its mounting, allowing you to direct the light up or down depending on whether you want wall wash or ground illumination. This adjustment is made by hand once the fitting is mounted.
Is it suitable for coastal locations?
The powder-coated aluminium body resists corrosion better than untreated steel, but prolonged salt exposure in coastal areas can accelerate weathering on any outdoor fitting. Regular rinsing with fresh water helps maintain the finish in high-salt environments.
What height should it be mounted at?
Mounting height depends on the application. For entrance lighting or security lighting, 1.8-2.2m puts the light at head height with downward tilt covering the doorstep. For pathway lighting, 600-900mm positions the light lower with upward or outward tilt to illuminate the ground ahead.
Can it be wired to a PIR sensor or timer?
Yes. The fitting connects to standard mains wiring, so it can be controlled by an external PIR motion sensor, photocell or timer switch wired upstream of the fitting. The LED is not dimmable, so it will only respond to on/off switching.
