Description
The Solstice is a 21W LED outdoor wall light with a built-in PIR motion sensor, housed in a powder-coated white aluminium body rated to IP54 for outdoor use. The integrated LED delivers 3000K warm white light through an opal polycarbonate diffuser that tilts to direct light up, down or forward depending on installation needs. The motion sensor detects movement within its range and switches the light on automatically, holding it for a preset duration before switching off again.
Designed for pathways, driveways, porches and garden entrances where security lighting is needed without permanent high-energy flood lights, the Solstice provides functional task lighting that activates only when required. The 212mm width and 100mm projection suit standard external wall mounting on brick, render or timber cladding. The optional twilight sensor (if fitted to this model) prevents daytime triggering, so the PIR activates only after dusk.
The white powder-coated aluminium resists corrosion in coastal and urban environments, and the opal polycarbonate diffuser distributes the 21W LED output evenly without harsh hotspots or glare. The IP54 rating provides protection against dust ingress and water splashes from any direction, making the fitting suitable for covered and exposed locations alike. The 3000K colour temperature sits in the warm-white range, closer to incandescent than daylight, giving outdoor spaces a welcoming tone after dark.

Frequently Asked
Can the PIR sensitivity or timer duration be adjusted?
Most motion sensor wall lights in this category have adjustable settings accessed behind the diffuser or via a panel on the fitting. Consult the installation manual included with the product to confirm whether sensitivity range and hold-on duration can be modified on this specific model.
What is the PIR detection range?
Detection range varies by sensor type and mounting height but typically covers 6-10m in a cone-shaped zone forward of the fitting. Mounting at 2-2.5m height gives optimal coverage of pathways and driveways without triggering from distant movement beyond the property boundary.
Is this suitable for fully exposed outdoor locations?
Yes. The IP54 rating provides dust protection and splash resistance from any direction, so the Solstice can be fitted on exposed walls, under eaves, or on covered porches. Avoid locations where the fitting is subject to direct water jets or continuous heavy rain without any overhang protection.
Can the diffuser angle be changed after installation?
The polycarbonate diffuser is adjustable on its hinge, allowing the light to be directed up, down or forward. This adjustment can be made during installation or afterwards without removing the fitting from the wall.
