Solstice LED Outdoor Motion Sensor Wall Light 21W 3000K - Grey

The Solstice is a 21W LED outdoor wall light with an integrated PIR motion sensor, housed in a powder-coated grey aluminium body with an adjustable opal polycarbonate diffuser. The integrated LED delivers 3000K warm white light through a glossy polycarbonate screen that rotates to direct light upwards, downwards or forward depending on mounting position and coverage requirements.

Designed for exterior security and utility lighting on driveways, front doors, rear access paths and garage entries, the motion sensor detects movement within a typical 8-10m range and switches the LED on automatically. The optional twilight sensor (where fitted) prevents activation during daylight hours, conserving energy by limiting operation to evening and night-time hours only. The IP54 rating protects internal components from dust ingress and splashing water from all directions, making the fitting suitable for exposed positions under eaves or on open walls.

The 212mm width and 100mm projection keep the fitting compact enough for narrow wall spaces alongside doorframes or between windows. The powder-coated grey finish resists UV degradation and corrosion in coastal and urban environments, maintaining colour consistency across several years of outdoor exposure. The polycarbonate diffuser softens the LED output to reduce glare while maintaining adequate brightness for security and safe navigation of steps, thresholds and pathways after dark.

What does the IP54 rating mean?

IP54 confirms the fitting is protected against dust ingress and splashing water from any direction. It can be mounted on exposed exterior walls, under eaves, or in covered porch areas, but is not rated for direct water jets or full submersion.

How does the motion sensor work?

The integrated PIR sensor detects infrared heat signatures from moving bodies within approximately 8-10m. When motion is detected, the LED switches on automatically. The optional twilight sensor (if fitted) prevents activation during daylight, limiting operation to dusk and night-time hours.

Can the diffuser angle be adjusted after installation?

Yes. The opal polycarbonate diffuser rotates on its mount, allowing you to direct light upwards for wall-wash effects, downwards to illuminate steps or pathways, or forward for broader coverage. This adjustment is made manually and can be changed after initial fitting.

Is the LED replaceable?

The LED is integrated into the fitting and is not user-replaceable. Ideal Lux rates the LED module for approximately 30,000 hours of operation, which equates to around 10 years of typical residential use (3 hours per evening). The 5-year warranty covers LED failure within that period.
