Description
The Solstice is a 212mm outdoor wall light with an integrated 21W LED, PIR motion sensor and an adjustable opal polycarbonate diffuser set in a black powder-coated aluminium body. The motion sensor detects movement within its detection zone and switches the light on automatically, holding it for a set duration before switching off again. An optional twilight sensor (where fitted) prevents activation during daylight hours.
Designed for entrances, side passages, garage forecourts and garden paths where hands-free switching and security lighting are needed, the Solstice mounts to brick, rendered or timber walls using a standard rear mounting plate. The IP54 rating protects against dust ingress and water spray from any direction, making it suitable for exposed locations without overhead shelter. The 3000K colour temperature provides warm white light that softens the black finish and works comfortably in residential settings.
The adjustable diffuser tilts on its mount, allowing light to be directed downwards onto a path or steps, horizontally along a wall, or angled upwards to wash a facade. The opal polycarbonate screen diffuses the LED evenly across its surface, avoiding harsh hotspots and glare. The black powder-coat finish on the aluminium body resists UV degradation and corrosion better than painted mild steel, maintaining its appearance through multiple seasons outdoors.

Frequently Asked
What does the PIR motion sensor detect?
The PIR (passive infrared) sensor detects body heat from people, animals and vehicles moving within its detection zone. Sensitivity and duration settings are typically adjustable via controls on the fitting or sensor module, allowing you to set how long the light stays on after detecting movement.
Can it be used in fully exposed outdoor locations?
The IP54 rating protects against dust and water spray, making it suitable for walls under eaves, side passages and porches. For fully exposed locations with driving rain or heavy weather, a higher IP rating (IP65 or IP66) would provide stronger water ingress protection.
Is the light adjustable?
Yes. The diffuser tilts on its mount, allowing you to direct the light downwards, horizontally or angled upwards depending on whether you need path lighting, wall wash or facade illumination.
Does it include the twilight sensor?
The product description mentions an optional twilight sensor. Check the specification or contact us to confirm whether this unit ships with the twilight sensor fitted or if it requires separate installation.
