Solar 2 Light Outdoor Wall Light - Anthracite

The Solar is a cylindrical outdoor wall light with two GU10 fittings housed in an anthracite-painted aluminium body. Light emits both upwards and downwards through transparent Pyrex glass diffusers at each end of the 210mm-tall cylinder, casting directional beams onto the wall and ground rather than dispersing ambient light outwards.

Designed for external walls on residential and commercial buildings, the Solar works as accent lighting on columns, beside doorways, along pathways, and on garden walls where vertical wall-wash effects are needed. The IP44 rating protects against water splashes from any direction and solid objects above 1mm, making it suitable for covered and exposed positions in UK weather. The dual-beam configuration highlights architectural features above and below the fitting while keeping glare low at eye level.

The anthracite finish is a dark grey powder coat applied over die-cast aluminium, giving corrosion resistance and a low-sheen surface that recedes visually against darker render, brick or timber. The 65mm diameter and 210mm height suit walls with limited projection space, keeping the fitting close to the mounting surface. Each GU10 socket accepts bulbs up to 50W (sold separately), allowing selection of LED wattage and colour temperature to match the installation. The Pyrex glass diffusers withstand temperature cycles from hot daytime surfaces to frost without cracking.

What bulbs does it take and are they included?

The Solar takes two GU10 bulbs up to 50W each. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with 4-7W LED GU10s in 3000K warm white for residential installations or 4000K neutral white for commercial settings.

Is it suitable for fully exposed outdoor positions?

The IP44 rating protects against water splashes and solid objects above 1mm, making it suitable for covered porches, under eaves, and positions with some shelter. For fully exposed coastal or very wet locations an IP65 fitting would provide higher protection.

Can it be dimmed?

Yes, provided you fit dimmable GU10 LED bulbs and pair the circuit with a compatible LED dimmer. The fitting itself is rated as dimmable. Standard non-dimmable GU10 LEDs will not dim and may flicker if used on a dimmer circuit.
