Description

The Smoke is a glass globe pendant light: a single sphere 26.7cm across, hanging from a ceiling canopy 12.8cm across on a drop of up to 200cm. We offer it in three glass colours, Shaded Smoky Grey, Shaded White and Shaded Forest Green, each glass shaded in tone across the globe, and its fittings come in a Brushed Titanium finish. The light source is an integrated LED, so there is no bulb to buy or change, and it gives a warm 2700K light with a CRI of 80.

A globe of this size suits a dining room or a living room. Hung on its own, it sits comfortably over a small round dining table or beside a reading chair; several hung together at different drops make a soft cluster of light above a longer table, each pendant bought separately. The Shaded White glass keeps a room pale and light, while the Shaded Smoky Grey and Shaded Forest Green glass bring a deeper colour that sits well against dark painted walls, panelling or warm timber floors. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only.

The construction is simple and tidy: the glass globe hangs from a small cap at its top, held from the canopy, with the fittings in Brushed Titanium. The Smoke runs on 230V mains power and is wired in to the mains by an electrician, so book a qualified electrician to install it at the ceiling point you have in mind. Before you order, measure from the ceiling to the top of your table or the floor: with a drop of up to 200cm there is room to set the globe at a comfortable height, low enough to light the table and high enough to keep sightlines clear across it. Our photographs show the shaded smoky grey version.
