Description

The Knightsbridge T5135 is a 5ft single-lamp T5 fluorescent batten accepting one 35W T5 tube (sold separately). The fitting measures 1475mm long, 63mm wide and projects 82.5mm from the wall or ceiling when surface-mounted. A high-frequency electronic ballast inside the pressed steel housing provides soft-start ignition and protects the tube from premature wear caused by voltage spikes or rapid on-off cycling.

Designed for dry indoor commercial and residential spaces, the batten suits workshops, offices, corridors, storerooms, utility rooms and garages where functional task lighting is needed without decorative detailing. The IP20 rating limits use to dry indoor environments — not suitable for bathrooms, outdoor areas or damp zones. The batten can be ceiling-mounted or wall-mounted, with fixing points at each end of the steel chassis.

The white-finished pressed steel body houses polycarbonate end caps that hold the T5 lamp holders. The Class I fitting requires an earth connection and operates on standard 230V 50Hz mains. The slimline 63mm width and neutral white finish allow the batten to sit unobtrusively against walls and ceilings in both white-painted and mixed-finish spaces. The fitting weighs approximately 0.8kg without the tube installed.

Does the batten come with a T5 tube?

No. The fitting accepts one 35W T5 tube, which is sold separately. Standard 35W T5 tubes are available in 3000K warm white, 4000K neutral white and 6500K daylight colour temperatures.

Can this be used in a garage or outdoor space?

The IP20 rating means it is suitable for dry indoor use only. For garages with no damp ingress it is acceptable, but not for outdoor covered areas, bathrooms or zones where moisture or dust accumulation is expected.

Is it dimmable?

No. The high-frequency ballast does not support dimming. The fitting operates at full output when switched on.

What fixing points does it have?

The batten has fixing points at each end of the steel chassis, allowing it to be screwed directly to a ceiling or wall. The fitting can be oriented horizontally or vertically depending on the mounting location.
