Description

An outdoor wall light in solid brass, with a conical brass shade over a clear recycled glass cylinder that encloses the bulb. The fitting is 17cm tall and 16cm wide, and stands 20cm out from the wall. The brass is shaped and polished by hand before the glass is fitted to it, and the whole fitting is finished in antique brass.

It carries an IP44 rating, which covers splashing water from any direction, and it is made for exterior walls. Mounted beside a door it lights the threshold and the step below it. It takes an E14 bulb of up to 25W and it is dimmable, so the level can be set low on a porch that stays lit through an evening.

The body is solid brass, chosen for its strength and its life outdoors. Each cylinder is hand blown from recycled glass, so the wall thickness and the ripples held in it differ from one to the next. The antique treatment on the brass is meant to deepen and change as it reacts with the weather rather than hold the tone it arrives in.
