Description

Our Sima vase is a purple glass vase with a frilled, wavy rim that opens out like a ruffled collar above a softly dented body. Nothing about it is quite straight: the sides dip and swell as they rise, so the light catches the glossy surface in a different place from every angle. It stands 33cm tall and measures 20cm across, a generous size that takes a full armful of stems rather than a single bloom, and at 1.8KG it has a good, solid weight for a glass vase.

Set it on a window ledge, a sideboard, a mantelpiece or the centre of a dining table and it holds its own as decoration, with or without flowers. The height suits taller arrangements such as pine, berried branches, amaryllis or long-stemmed tulips, and the flared rim gives them room to spread. At Christmas it makes a handsome home for winter greenery and cones; in spring it works just as well with blossom.
