Description

The Sigiri tall wine glass is mouth blown from recycled glass into a tall, straight sided bowl that flares a little at the rim and is ribbed all the way down. The bowl sits almost directly on the foot, on a stem barely long enough to take a finger. Each glass is 16cm tall and 7cm across. The glass carries a faint green cast and a scatter of small bubbles through the wall, and the rim runs slightly uneven.

Each glass holds 250ml. These were made for relaxed lunches and suppers, indoors and out. Because the bowl sits almost on the foot, very little of the 16cm goes to the stem and most of the height is bowl, so the glass stands lower on a table than a long stemmed one and is harder to catch with a sleeve. Four come in a set.

The glass is recycled, and it is blown by hand, so the run of the ribbing and the thickness of the wall differ from one glass to the next. The ribbing is cut in at the edge rather than moulded flat, which is what gives the surface its texture. The Sigiri range also holds a small wine glass and a champagne glass, both in sets of four.
