Description

This side plate is made of stoneware and decorated by hand in blue. It is 20.5cm across and 2.5cm tall. Wavy bands of stripes run in from the rim towards a small dot at the centre, with broad brushed wedges of blue between them, so the whole face reads as one bold radial pattern. Because every plate is decorated by hand, each piece is unique: the lines wander a little differently and the brushstrokes show, which is much of its charm. The rim lifts gently from a flat centre, and the plate weighs 0.544KG, a solid weight for its size.
