Description

This is a wide stoneware bowl, 26cm across and 12cm tall, with broad blue stripes painted by hand down the outside and a matching ring of stripes fanning across the inside. It holds 3250ml, which makes it a serving bowl rather than one for a single portion: the size you set in the middle of the table for everyone to help themselves. Inside, the stripes stop short of the base, leaving a plain round centre in the speckled glaze, and the bowl stands on a raised foot in a contrasting tone that lifts it neatly off the table.
