Description

A set of three hanging baubles, each woven from natural rattan into a drop that swells to a wide shoulder near the top and tapers to a point at the bottom. The weave is open: a continuous length of cane spirals round a cage of upright ribs, leaving gaps you can see straight through, and a raised band winds from the shoulder down to the point. Each one is 14cm tall and 7cm across and hangs from a loop of natural twine knotted at the tip.

Three come in a set. At 14cm they are long rather than round, so they hang below a branch instead of against it and want a clear gap underneath. The open weave lets light pass through and casts a soft patterned shadow behind, which shows where a lamp or a window is close and the wall behind is plain. The twine loop is long enough to go straight over a branch without a hook.

Each bauble is hand formed from sustainably sourced rattan. The cane is shaped round the ribs by hand and every piece is secured and finished individually, so the pitch of the spiral and the width of the gaps between the canes differ from one bauble to the next. The colour is the tone of the rattan itself, and no two of the three are quite the same.

Frequently Asked

How many baubles come in a set?

Three. Each one is 14cm tall and 7cm across.

What are they made from?

Natural rattan, woven by hand, on a loop of twine.

Can they be hung outdoors?

No. These are for indoor use only.

How are they hung?

Each one comes on a loop of twine knotted at the top, long enough to pass over a branch without a hook.
