Description

The six light Selmoor is the mid sized pendant in the design, with antique brass plated arms carrying clear glass shards set at mixed angles. Light passing through the shards splits into bright points rather than spreading evenly, which is what gives the fitting its sparkle. It measures 600mm across, and the drop adjusts from 570mm to 2020mm, so it can sit close under a normal ceiling or hang well down in a taller room. Six E14 lamp holders take bulbs rated up to 40W, and the whole pendant is dimmable.

At 600mm this is the version that fits an ordinary house without dominating it. We would hang it over a dining table, in a hallway, above a stair landing or in the centre of a sitting room. It has the feel of a chandelier while staying more open than a solid crystal frame, so it works in a period room and in a plainer modern one. Over a table, leave enough clearance that the lowest shards sit above sightlines, and the wide drop range makes that easy to set.

The frame is metal with antique brass plating, warm toned and lightly aged so it settles into a room rather than shining out of it. The shards are clear glass and hold dust quickly, so dust them regularly with a dry microfibre cloth, power off and bulbs completely cool, handling the shaped edges with care. Wipe the brass with a barely damp cloth only, and keep sprays and abrasive creams away from plated metal. At 5.9kg it needs a sound ceiling fixing. A larger Selmoor pendant and a flush Selmoor ceiling light cover other rooms.
