Description

The Selene is a 60cm circular chandelier built around a matte black metal ring lined with two tiers of faceted crystal drops. An integrated 30W LED sits inside the upper rim of the frame, casting 3000K warm white light downwards through the hanging crystals and outwards against the ceiling. The crystals refract the light into scattered patterns across surrounding walls and surfaces.

Designed for dining rooms, entrance halls and living rooms with ceiling heights between 2.4m and 3m, the Selene hangs on adjustable suspension cables that allow the drop to be set anywhere from 60cm to 130cm depending on the room height and the desired proportion above a table or floor. The circular form means the light effect is balanced when viewed from any angle in the room. The IP20 rating limits the fitting to dry indoor locations.

The matte black finish on the metal frame provides a defined edge to the circular outline and contrasts with the transparency of the cut crystal, giving the fitting visual weight even when unlit. At 5.37kg the Selene requires a ceiling fixing capable of supporting the combined weight of the metal frame, crystal tiers and fittings. The integrated LED cannot be replaced, the entire light source is sealed into the frame during manufacture.

Is the LED replaceable?

No. The 30W LED is integrated into the metal frame during manufacture and cannot be replaced. The LED is rated for approximately 25,000 hours of use, which equates to around 10-15 years of typical residential operation.

What ceiling height is needed?

The adjustable suspension cables allow the drop to be set between 60cm and 130cm. For a dining table the fitting typically sits 70-90cm above the surface, which works in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above. Lower ceilings can accommodate the Selene if the chandelier is set to minimum drop.

How are the crystals cleaned?

Switch off the mains supply before cleaning. Wipe each crystal drop gently with a dry microfibre cloth to remove dust. For more stubborn marks, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable, but avoid soaking the crystals or allowing water to run into the metal frame.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

No. The IP20 rating means the Selene is only suitable for dry indoor locations. It cannot be installed in bathrooms, shower rooms, or outdoor covered areas where moisture levels are elevated.
