Description
We stock the Scala as a low-profile ceiling light with concentric rings of vertical glass rods set around a central light source. The integrated 12W LED sits behind the inner ring and casts 1300 lumens of warm white (3000K) light out through the ribbed glass, which catches and diffuses the output so the room fills with soft, even light. The frame and canopy are metal in a bronze finish, a warm metallic tone that reads somewhere between antique brass and darker bronze.
It sits close to the ceiling rather than hanging down, so we tend to fit it in hallways, bedrooms and low-ceiling living rooms where a pendant would drop too far into the space. The 120 degree beam spreads light broadly across the room instead of pushing it straight down, which makes it a general ambient fitting rather than a task light. Its IP20 rating means it is for indoor, dry areas away from splashes, so keep it out of shower and bath zones.
The Scala runs on standard UK mains (220 to 240V, 50Hz) and connects directly to your ceiling wiring through the canopy back plate, so there is no separate bulb to buy and nothing to fit inside it. The LED is fixed at 3000K warm white with a CRI of 80 and is not dimmable, so it gives one steady, consistent level of light. It carries an F energy rating.

Frequently Asked
Does it need a separate bulb?
No. The 12W LED is built in, giving 1300 lumens of warm white (3000K) light, so there is nothing extra to buy or fit. It wires straight into your ceiling supply through the canopy back plate.
Is it dimmable?
No. The integrated LED runs at a single fixed brightness, so it is not suitable for a dimmer switch. It gives one steady level of warm white light.
Can I use it in a bathroom?
No. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only. IP20 is for indoor use with no protection against water.
What sort of light does it give?
Warm white at 3000K with a wide 120 degree spread, so it works as general ambient lighting for a room rather than focused task light. The ribbed glass rods diffuse the LED for a soft, even glow.
