Description

This is an angel hanging decoration in gold, with a rounded head, a body that flares gently towards its base and two wings spread wide to either side. The whole surface is covered in a crushed, mosaic-like texture of small reflective pieces, so rather than a flat shine it throws back little points of light as you walk past. It is made from iron, glass and jute and measures 17cm tall, 15.5cm long and 5.5cm wide, a generous size for a Christmas decoration: big enough to read clearly on a door or a bare wall, not only among the branches of a tree.

A small metal ring at the top of the head carries a loop of jute string, so it is ready to hang from a door handle, a hook, a window catch or a sturdy branch. We like it tied to the handle of a hallway or living room door with a ribbon and a sprig of pine, where everyone passes it on the way in, or hung in a window so daylight plays across the texture.
