Description

The Sanja is an upholstered bench 125cm wide, 45cm high and 40cm deep. The top is cotton in a fine woven stripe, charcoal on natural, padded and crowned so it stands slightly proud of the frame it sits in. The frame is slim square-section iron in a distressed pewter finish, and a wooden shelf runs the full length underneath. Nothing is boxed in, so the bench is open from end to end.

At 45cm the top is seat height and at 125cm long it takes two, at the end of a bed or along a hallway wall. The shelf below is open, which suits shoes, folded blankets or a pair of baskets, and it puts them where they can be reached without moving the bench. It carries up to 125kg. Direct sunlight fades natural dyes and yarns, so a spot out of a window keeps the stripe true.

The cover is cotton and the frame is iron, and each bench is assembled by hand. The Sanja range runs to beds, an armchair, an ottoman, lampshades and a separate storage bench.

Larger stains should go to a professional.
