Description

The Sangamo S254/2 is a programmable 24-hour time switch with two independent on/off cycles per day, rated at 20A on a 3-pin connection. The analogue dial face shows a numbered 24-hour clock with two adjustable trip levers that control when the switch activates and deactivates, allowing automated control of heating systems, immersion heaters, lighting circuits and other electrical loads.

Designed for installation in domestic, commercial and industrial electrical panels, the S254/2 fits standard DIN rail or surface mounting and connects via screw terminals. The day-omit dial allows the ON operation to be skipped on specific days without reprogramming the main schedule, useful for weekend shutdowns or irregular occupancy patterns. A manual override button on the front allows temporary switching outside the programmed schedule without affecting the stored settings.

The round analogue dial gives a clear visual indication of the current time position and the active switching periods, making the schedule visible at a glance without needing to scroll through digital menus. The 20A rating handles resistive loads up to 4,600W on 230V mains, suitable for most domestic immersion heaters, space heaters and circuit control applications. The switch operates without a battery reserve, maintaining the clock position through continuous mains power only.

Frequently Asked

How many switching cycles can be programmed per day?

The S254/2 provides two independent on/off cycles per 24-hour period. Each cycle consists of one ON time and one OFF time, set by positioning the trip levers on the analogue dial.

Does the switch have a battery backup?

No. The S254/2 operates without battery reserve and relies on continuous mains power to maintain the clock position. A power interruption will stop the clock until power is restored, requiring the time to be reset.

What is the day-omit function?

The day-omit dial allows the ON operation to be disabled on selected days without removing or reprogramming the trip levers. This is useful for weekend shutdowns or irregular occupancy where the heating or lighting load is not required on certain days.

What type of loads can the 20A rating handle?

The 20A rating suits resistive loads such as immersion heaters, space heaters, water heaters and lighting circuits up to approximately 4,600W on 230V mains. For inductive or motor loads, consult the datasheet for derating factors.
