How is the Q555 programmed?

The Q555 uses a mechanical dial with four removable pins. Position the pins at the times you want the switch to turn on or off — as the dial rotates through the 24-hour cycle, each pin triggers a switching event. The day omit dial excludes specific days from the programmed schedule without needing to remove pins.

What happens during a power cut?

The 100-hour battery reserve keeps the internal clock running and maintains the programmed schedule through mains power interruptions. When mains power returns, the timer resumes operation at the correct time without needing to be reset.

What loads can the 20A rating handle?

The 20A rating applies to resistive loads such as heaters, lighting circuits and similar equipment. Inductive loads (motors, transformers) may require derating — consult the specification sheet for exact switching capacity with inductive loads.

Can the manual override be left on permanently?

The manual override button provides temporary control outside the programmed schedule, but it is not designed as a permanent on/off switch. For permanent control, adjust the pin positions or use a separate isolation switch.
