Description

The Sangamo Q555 is a 24-hour programmable time switch operating on 110V and rated at 20A, using a mechanical 4-pin round pattern dial to schedule on/off operations for connected loads. A red-and-white dial face shows the 24-hour cycle with hour markings from 1 through 24, and four removable pins are positioned on the dial to trigger switching events as the dial rotates through its daily cycle.

Designed for controlling heating systems, lighting circuits, industrial equipment and commercial machinery that require daily scheduling on reduced-voltage 110V supplies, the Q555 fits standard electrical enclosures and DIN rail mounts. The day omit dial allows specific days of the week to be excluded from the programmed schedule without removing pins, useful for weekend shutdowns or weekday-only operation. A manual override button on the front gives temporary control outside the programmed schedule.

The quartz movement maintains timing accuracy across mains variations, and a 100-hour battery reserve keeps the clock running and the schedule intact through power cuts. The clear polycarbonate cover protects the dial and mechanism while allowing the current time and pin positions to be read at a glance. The switch contacts handle up to 20A resistive loads, making it suitable for larger motors, heaters and high-draw equipment on 110V industrial and construction site supplies.

Frequently Asked

How is the Q555 programmed?

The Q555 uses a mechanical dial with four removable pins. Position the pins at the times you want the switch to turn on or off — as the dial rotates through the 24-hour cycle, each pin triggers a switching event. The day omit dial excludes specific days from the programmed schedule without needing to remove pins.

What happens during a power cut?

The 100-hour battery reserve keeps the internal clock running and maintains the programmed schedule through mains power interruptions. When mains power returns, the timer resumes operation at the correct time without needing to be reset.

What loads can the 20A rating handle?

The 20A rating applies to resistive loads such as heaters, lighting circuits and similar equipment. Inductive loads (motors, transformers) may require derating — consult the specification sheet for exact switching capacity with inductive loads.

Can the manual override be left on permanently?

The manual override button provides temporary control outside the programmed schedule, but it is not designed as a permanent on/off switch. For permanent control, adjust the pin positions or use a separate isolation switch.
