Description

The Sangamo Q554.2 is a 24-hour programmable time switch with two on/off operations per day, mounted in a round pattern housing with a clear plastic cover and white dial face. The unit carries a 20A rating at 230V and connects via a 3-pin terminal block, making it suitable for controlling heating systems, lighting circuits, immersion heaters, and other timed electrical loads up to 4,600W.

Designed for consumer unit or enclosure mounting, the Q554.2 uses a mechanical quartz movement with a rotating dial that advances through a 24-hour cycle, triggering switches at the programmed on and off times. The day omit dial allows specific days of the week to be skipped without removing the timing pins, useful for weekend or holiday schedules. A manual override button on the front allows temporary switching without disturbing the programmed timing pattern.

The 100-hour battery reserve keeps the clock running during power cuts, maintaining the programmed schedule and preventing drift. The clear cover allows visual confirmation of the current time position and programmed pin positions without opening the enclosure. The 104mm diameter round case fits standard zone valve and time switch mounting positions in UK heating control panels.

Frequently Asked

How many on/off cycles can be programmed per day?

The Q554.2 supports two on/off operations per 24-hour period. This means you can program two separate switching events each day, such as morning on, evening off, or two timed heating periods.

What happens during a power cut?

The 100-hour battery reserve keeps the clock running during mains power failure, so the timer maintains its schedule and does not need reprogramming when power returns. The battery is internal and maintenance-free.

What is the day omit dial used for?

The day omit dial allows you to disable the timer on specific days of the week without removing the timing pins. This is useful for skipping weekends or creating different schedules for different days without physically reprogramming the dial.

What is the manual override button for?

The manual override button allows you to temporarily switch the load on or off outside the programmed schedule, without disturbing the timing pins or affecting future scheduled operations. The timer returns to automatic operation at the next programmed event.
